Happy Thanksgiving! We all have so very much to be thankful for this year. All it takes is a few minutes of listening to the news, looking at a news paper, or reading about current events online to find something to be thankful for. With Super Storm Sandy, we can be thankful it was not more severe and more were not hurt. With our election, no matter who we all voted for, we can be thankful we live in a country where we are able to vote for our leaders. When we hear about people searching for loved ones who have disappeared, we can be thankful it was not our loved one that was lost.
As Thanksgiving day is coming to a close I have many things I am thankful for this year. I am thankful I was able to spend the day with my family. I am thankful for the roof over my head and the meals we were able to enjoy today. I am thankful for the acts of kindness that have been given to me when I was in need. I am thankful for new opportunities and adventures! I am thankful for the people that have pushed and encouraged me. I am thankful to live in a country where I have freedoms others only dream of. I am thankful that even with the world struggling as it is, we were able to have one day to remember just how much we do have, not what we wish we had.
Here's to hoping we can all continue to remember what we have already been given, and to see what we can give to others as we move into the Christmas season!
